Hey, thanks for mentioning my webcomic, Gradually, But With Love. Your reactions were really very funny.

And you're right, the art is in fact a digital photo. I play with its saturation and color levels and on and on until it starts looking like a pencil sketch, and then go over it to clean up the areas that inevitably become too dark or too realistic.
