For now this will be the forum for ideas, and discussing the communal webcomic idea we were talking about on Episode 50 of The Webcomic Beacon.... MP3 to be out later.

Basically the idea is similar to The Guest Strip Project... only a bit more structured, and starting off with a few webcomickers helping to create the foundation.

The plan is to make an open source cast (or at lease a loose Creative Commons cast), so character development could be intense. The comic should stay close to Web 14 as much as possible. No porn at all.

The plan was mostly for Gag strips and very short arcs, however, nothing is nailed down. Even the type of cast is not nailed down... heck we could have a talking piece of bacon, a furry, a human, depressed slugs, and aliens... for all I know. ... So essentially no holds barred asside from sticking close to a Web 14 rating. More can be discussed here for those interested.

The idea was to have a ComicPress Site with several log-ins for those involved. We also hope to get a "private" forum somewhere so we can all discuss various plot lines, jokes, or even character development in private.

Excellent idea, can't wait to listen to Episode 50.

I'd like to get in on some of that ^_^

The plan is to make a cast together. maybe of 4-5 regulars. I would like to make the "Webcomic Bacon" cast open-source, or a level of Creative Commons, so other people could freely use the characters as well. This eliminates any worry of "who owns what" of working on the Webcomic Bacon comic as well.

From the originally developed cast, people can always introduce other characters and such, but I'm hoping to keep a main cast native to the comic as a troupe.

But, of course, brainstorming these characters between the main people interested in really doing this project, should be an intensive endeavor, as well as be very fun. Heck We all might just make an individual character each and/or develop upon each of them as a whole.

The plan is to get a few committed people for this project on an episode to do some brainstorming!

Hrmm... yes.... very interesting idea! If there's something I could do to make a contribution I'd certainly like to give it a whirl.

I think this is a great idea. I'd love to design some characters and help work out the story details. Let me know when we are going to get together.

I think that something like this could be a lot of fun.

I am really looking forward to the brainstorming on the topics of characters and story possibilities. If nothing else I'd love to lend a pencil.

December 7th will be the show in which we'll talk about it. Skype involvement will be limited for 4-5 people (other than myself and Tanya) and semi-structured so it doesn't turn into jibberish.

I think this a good idea and with enough committed people it could really do well.

I'd love to help out in some way but my strong point is writing but not gag and I'm no good a drawing (Despite being in art collage) so I'll be here for mortal support. Go Team Bacon!

Mmmmmmm.... bacon. I'm working on a few things, and suprisingly I actually remember some drawing fundamantals. Unfortunately I have a style that looks a bit like the Simpsons and a bit like Sonic the Hedgehog. Lotsa bubble-eyes.
